About Idaho National Laboratory

Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is the United States' preeminent nuclear research center. World-renowned as the birthplace of nuclear power, INL is home to some of the world's unique nuclear facilities, including the Advanced Test Reactor (ATR), EBR-I (the first nuclear reactor to generate electricity) and EBR-II, which sustained U.S. fast spectrum reactor research for 30 years and featured on-site fuel reprocessing.

INL continues today as a world-class contributor to nuclear research and development and leads U.S. research efforts into Generation IV and Global Nuclear Energy Partnership technologies.

Tour participants will visit EBR-I, ATR, and the Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC), home to EBR-II, the Fuel Conditioning Facility, and INL's unique Hot Fuel Examination Facility. Tour price includes transportation to Idaho Falls and an outdoor barbecue lunch at MFC.

For those looking to explore the region's diverse cultural and natural attractions, Idaho Falls is within two hours of two major tourist destinations: beautiful Yellowstone National Park and Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
